It is also attended by the Oton PNP, Oton Fire Station, Department of Education, DILG, Barangay Buray, WVSU Rotaract Club, and representatives from the different LGU offices.
A total of 205 various seedlings were planted in the Tree-Growing activity which also forms part of the Environment Month 2024 Celebration with the theme “Our Environment. Our Future”. This is also in accordance with the Municipal Ordinance No. 2023-437 “An Ordinance Declaring June 25 of Every Year as Arbor Day in the Municipality of Oton, Iloilo”
Under the shade of existing trees, participants dug holes, carefully placed saplings, and covered their roots with soil. Each tree represented hope, growth, and resilience. As the sun climbed higher, the earth welcomed new life—the promise of cleaner air, soil stability, and habitat for wildlife.
