Office Function:

  • Responsible for the civil registration program in the Local Government Unit pursuant to the Civil Registry Law. Civil Code and pertinent rules and regulation issued by the implementing Agency;

  • Develops plans and strategies regarding civil registry programs and projects which the mayor is empowered to implement and which the sanggunian is empowered to provide for under the Local Government Code;

  • Accepts all registrable documents and judicial decrees affecting the civil status of the persons;
  • Files, keeps and preserves in secured place the books required by law;

  • Transcribes and enter immediately all registrable documents and judicial decree affecting the civil status of persons in the appropriate civil registry books;

  • Receives applications for the issuance of a marriage license and after determining that the requirements and supporting certificates and publication for the prescribed period have been complies with, shall issue the License upon payment of the authorize fee;

  • Coordinates with the OCRG in conducting educational campaigns for vital registration;

  • Issues certified transcription copies of any certificates of documents registered, upon payments of the proper fees;

  • Files, keeps and preserves civil registry records as per archival system mandate by the Local Government Code;

  • Sends to the OCRG, during the first 10 days of each month a copy of entries made during the preceding months;

  • Submits to the OCRG status of reports as the condition of civil registry office whenever there are changes of the pervious status of files;

  • Reconstruct destroyed civil registry records upon compliances with the requirements following the procedure established by the OCRG.

  • Encodes and index the registered civil registry documents to facilitate records and identification in case any information is required
