Mayor Sofronio L. Fusin, Jr., along with representatives from the DPWH Iloilo 1st District Engineering Office and the project contractor, recently conducted an inspection of the solar streetlight installation in Barangay Poblacion West, Oton.

The visit was prompted after Vice Mayor Jose Neil P. Olivares expressed his concern regarding the potential safety risks of the current lamp post design. In response, DPWH has temporarily paused construction and requested adjustments to the placement of completed pedestals at no additional cost to the project.

The LGU, DPWH, and other concerned stakeholders are working closely together to address the matter and ensure that the project is completed safely and effectively for the benefit of the community.
