A river clean-up activity was successfully conducted along the Batiano River, specifically at the boundary of Oton and Iloilo City, as part of a joint effort to promote environmental preservation.

The initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (City ENRO), Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Oton, the Municipality of Oton, Barangay Alegre, and Barangay San Nicolas.

The activity aimed to reduce solid waste in the river and foster a culture of sustained cleanliness and ecological protection. The local government of Oton continues to uphold its commitment to environmental stewardship through regular clean-ups and active community participation.
