
Mayor Sofronio L. Fusin, Jr. welcomed DOLE Officers led by Ms. Amalia N. Judicpa, OIC, of the Department of Iloilo Field Office, and Mr. Benigno C. Cabaton, Jr., LEO III, DILP Focal Person during the orientation on the implementation of the “Various Livelihood Projects for the Parents/Guardians of Child Laborers” in the municipality of Oton.
The livelihood project, with a budget of P1,698,312.00, falls under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) and will benefit 77 identified beneficiaries (17 males and 60 females).
The Municipal Public Employment Service Office headed by Ms. Marriet S. Tumapang supervised the distribution of goods to the beneficiaries.
The implementation of the livelihood projects is expected to yield significant benefits for the recipients, fostering economic stability and enhancing their quality of life. By empowering parents and guardians of child laborers, the initiative aligns with Oton’s broader goals of inclusive growth and social development. The successful orientation underscores the importance of partnership and collaboration between the local government and national agencies like DOLE.
