The Oton Tourism Office, under the leadership of Tourism Officer Ms. Che Che S. Demo-os, officially launched a two-day Katagman Festival Management Workshop today at the Top Star Hotel in Brgy. Poblacion South. The workshop is designed to provide the Municipal Council for Culture and the Arts (MCCA) and the Katagman 2025 Tribe Managers with essential knowledge and skills related to the operational procedures involved in organizing and executing the festival. The goal is to ensure smooth and efficient tribe management, helping to streamline the coordination and execution of activities during the festival.

With thorough preparations underway, the Local Government Unit of Oton is poised to deliver an extraordinary and grand Katagman Festival in 2025, highlighting the rich cultural heritage and vibrant traditions of the community.

The workshop will feature two distinguished resource speakers:

  • February 20: Mr. Gilbert “Bombette” Marin, Provincial Tourism Officer, will provide insights into tourism management and festival operations.
  • February 21: Dr. Alfonso R. Baldonado, Division Chief of Administration & Training at the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), will discuss risk management and preparedness, ensuring the safety and security of festival participants and attendees.

These sessions aim to equip the MCCA and tribe managers with the necessary tools to manage a safe, organized, and successful Katagman Festival.
